My phone is currently stuck in the 'slide up grade' bug from the iOS 9 update. I've read that I should backup/restore my phone and that this will resolve the problem. Unfortunately, I have a new laptop and no backups on here, I also cannot backup my phone because it says it has 'not been set up yet'. Is there any way of bypassing this to back up my phone?

iTunes running, your phone connected, press both the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo on your phone, then release.
Try now.
No luck. I press 'back up now' and all that comes back is 'iTunes could not back up the iPhone because it has not been set up yet'.
Looks like your only choice now is to hit the "Restore" button & restore your phone as a new device.
Unfortunately that's not possible either, seeing as I have 'Find my iPhone' activated and that needs to be switched off before I can restore my device. **** it.
Try logging into iCloud.com, using your computer. See if you can locate your phone. If so, erase it. You should be able to restore it now.
If that doesn't work, you'll have to make an appointment at any Apple store.

I've had the exact same problem and rebooting my 5s helped.
Brand new laptop and phone cannot be backed up because 'it has not been set up yet'. Any solutions?
