Which is the correct type of DVI adapter to use so I can plug a pc in to my spare cinema display?

I have two apple Cinema displays. One is connected to my iMac - no problem, happy days! The other I want to plug in to my PC (An important app I use for work is only PC based) I have bought a VGA to DVI adapter but, as you can guess, I don't get a picture. I have seen that there are a couple of types of DVI. I bought the standard DVI and a DVI-i adapter. Neither work. Could anyone help please? Thanks. Paul

What model display? What ports on the computer?

If the display is DVI and the computer VGA, a simple adapter won't work. You would need a VGA to DVI converter, such as:

http://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=101&cp_id=10114&cs_id=1011401&p_id=8214&se q=1&format=2

Note that it can not handle dual-link DVI, so a 27" display would have to run at half resolution (1280 x 720).
