Could it be that I have 2 Notes account under 1 apple ID?

I have been struggling to find a fix to Notes not syncing properly. Here is what happens: the iOS device and iCloud Notes are in perfect sync, but the Notes app on OS X Mavericks is not. Whatever I write on iOS and iCloud, will not appear on OS X; and whatever I write on OS X, will not appear on iOS and iCloud. Then I also noticed that when I bring up iCloud in the browser and click on Notes, the URL shows https://www.icloud.com/#notes2 and I wonder if this has to do with the issue. Is it possible that a second Notes account was created on iCloud?

I have disabled notes in the iCloud account both in OS X and in iOS, was warned that this will delete my notes, went ahead and the notes did disappear, restarted the device, enabled notes in the iCloud again and the notes were recovered just as they were previously: one set of notes on iOS and iCloud, another set of notes on OS X.

I even signed off and signed back on with apple ID... still the same thing.

If the case is indeed that I have two Notes accounts, I would like to know how to merge or at least disable/delete one of them.

What happens if you go to Notes/Accounts? Do you see 2 sets of Notes there?

Notes>Accounts opens my accounts in System Preferences. My accounts appear and the list of apps associated with each (boxes checked or unchecked). Notes is checked only in iCloud.

Try stopping the Notes syncing in iCloud Preferences, log out/in, and then resync.

Thanks. I did that now. I still have two sets of notes: one on the iPhone and in iCloud (browser) and another on the Notes app on the MacBook Air. The same ones came back after being deleted from the devices.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM:

My son (Apple ID #1) would like to share his notes with me.

(His notes are perfectly synchronizing between his Mac, iPad and iCloud online.)

I enter his credentials in "Internet-Accounts" and see his Mail, Contacts, Calendars and Reminders.

BUT HIS NOTES ARE MISSING!

When I enter new notes into this new section in my own Notes app, they are synchronized between my own iPad, iPhone and several Macs.

BUT THESE NEW NOTES DO NOT SHOW UP AT MY SON'S DEVICES OR HIS ICLOUD ONLINE.

ANALYSIS:

My son's (Apple ID #1) iCloud online shows

https://www.icloud.com/#notes2

I CANNOT SHARE MY SON'S NOTES.

My own account (Apple ID #2) shows

https://www.icloud.com/#notes

MY SON CAN SHARE MY NOTES.

APPLECARE CONTACTED:

They recognized the behavior and promised to look deeper into it.
