Why is my Drummer track playing and I have no Drummer regions or MIDI?

I was working in a Logic X project and I noticed one of my drummer tracks was playing even though I had no MIDI or Regions.

I also notice the little lightbulb icon turning on and off as if there were MIDI playing. Where can I edit this hidden data?

Is my file corrupt?

Thanks

I already checked the Input in the environment and I can only see that there is actually audio signal coming from the channel strip

Did you check the actually Sequencer Input (on the Click & Ports Layer) in the Environment? The Mixer Layer with the Channel Strip pretty much shows the same what you see in Logic's Mixer Window. You should look for the mysterious MIDI source.

Do you see any input in the Monitor Object coming from the Physical Input going to the Sequencer Input?

Check your Audio MIDI Setup app, All those Devices (even IAC, BLuethooth and Network are feeding into Logic

When you talk about the little bulb, I guess you mean the LED in the Control Bar Display. Set it to Custom so you can see a more detailed MIDI Input and Output reading. As far as I know this reads the MIDI input on the Physical Input, any external MIDI Devices or the Musical Typing Keyboard. I don't think any internal MIDI signal routing (if it is generated by a Software Synth) should show up there

Also, do you have the MIDI Monitor app? This is a free utility that shows any MIDI signal going through your computer. It might help you to check on any rouge signals.

Hope that helps (this time)

Is it possible that another (external) MIDI Device is playing your Drummer Track live?

Follow the signal:

  • Mute the Track (Power Button)
  • Mute the Channel Strip (Mute Button)
  • Monitor the MIDI Input in the Environment
  • Open the Mixer (set to "All") to see where the signal is playing.

Hope that helps

Thanks to everyone. I kind of solved but without having an explanation. I did check the environmente Clicks & Ports and I did not find nothing; as seeren suspected, I followed drummers signal and found that ultrabeats samples were playing but the instrument was turned off. I was getting upset and I decided doing what I said before;

I tried duplicating drummer channel with the doble plus (++) icon, but t was disabled so I right-clicked the channel and chose "add new drummer track". I found that the hidden MIDI data revealed (it was actually Midi info, not waveform as drummer data is presented), but not in the new channel but in the one I created before. Awesome, right?

OK guys thanks, I'll take another look, I'm pretty sure there are no hidden tracks, I revealed and there weren't any. I already checked the Input in the environment and I can only see that there is actually audio signal coming from the channel strip and I also noticed that there is MIDI data coming from somewhere inside the software instrument because the little light bulb flashes when a kick/snare/hh is triggered. But again I don't undesrtand how they are triggered if there is no MIDI or other instruments connnected.

I'll try with my built in interface and see what happens. Let you know if i have some progress. 😟

Maybe there is somekind of corrupt data in my file. I'll try duplicating the channel and pasting the track info, it's kind of annoying.
