    Hi,

I am seeing this, rather that what you see.

    Screen Shot 2015-09-22 at 20.28.56.png

This suggests that the Yahoo Server that Apple choose to connect to is not available.

Unfortunately the setting in the Preferences > Accounts does not let you try another server or port.

Compared to the AIM, Jabber (including Google) and Bonjour Plugins the Yahoo one is a very poor relation.

It has not changed since it's introduction in iChat 6.

After a while Yahoo also stopped supporting the Yahoo for Mac app as well (that was last updated in 2012) and it no longer works in Yosemite.

It also logged in to a different server.

As Apple have left us with no changeable options in the Messages app there is not a lot we can do.

    Use this feedback page http://www.apple.com/feedback/ichat.html

It is the  correct one even though it has not been updated since Snow Leopard.

As a consequence you will need to enter all the info needed for the lower drop downs in the Free Text Area.

You will not get a response but an update may then follow some point.
