News app refresh on cellular network not working

I love the news app, however it's only working/refreshing when I am connected to wifi. I continue to see the following message when connected to cellular network (LTE), "Can't refresh right now. There may be a problem with the server or network. Please try again later." I have been researching this for several days, and see many others with the same issue. I have tried just about everything, forced restart on iPhone, made sure background refresh is on for news app....nothing seems to work. I'm guessing this may be a glitch, but I'm hoping this gets fixed soon! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have the same issue. I'm on AT&T.

News app only refreshes when I'm on WiFi..

Just wanted to post an update. Today I received my Verizon iPhone 6s Plus...I was hoping this problem would be solved, unfortunately it is not. I still cannot refresh news app on cellular network on my new iPhone. Same message keeps appearing.

The problem is IOS 9 settings.

I spoke with Apple Support today and they said I have to wipe out the entire phone (apps and data) and bring back to factory settings and then add stuff manually. Yes everything has to be inputted manually (apps, phone number, all data)

If I use a back up it will bring back the problem.

You will loose ALL data stored. They told me that the problem is stored in the settings and they have no other solutions at this time.

All I can say is, wow! That's absurd! There's no way I'd go through all that just for the news app. I have a ton of apps and it would take me forever. I appreciate you posting your response though! I think Apple needs to find a better solution.

Well.. I can confirm that resetting to factory settings indeed resolved the issue. I'm glad I have everything synched with iCloud, at least pictures, docs, etc are still there but yes, it was a pain to have to re-install all my apps and re-apply some of the settings. I spent an hour at night to get it done. I didn't re-download all my news apps like Flipboard, CNN, etc now that I found my go-to news app. One good thing having to reset was I realized I had way too many apps that I didn't even realize I have and don't use, so I only re-downloaded the apps that I really need and use.

Hopefully Apple comes up with a better solution than resetting to factory settings.
