If you read these forums, you will always hear about problems. That is what the forums are here for so users can get help with their problems. It is a little bit like if you go to the ER, you are going to see sick people.

So far I and the user I help support have upgraded to iOS9 and have experienced no problems whatsoever.

I've had no issues on an iPhone 6, iPad Air 2, and iPhone 5 on iOS9

However, your mileage may vary. But surprisingly, this update has actually seen less posts about issues than previous ones from what I've seen.

I'm running iOS 9 on a third gen iPad and an iPhone 5 with no significant issues.

Seems that way to me as well.

You really should consider starting your own thread where your problem can be discussed exclusively rather then posting at the bottom of thread that has such a non-descript problem of "I heard there were lots of problems" at its start.

I had a problem with ios 9 on ipad air 2.  Essentially the download disabled my iPad and I had to restore to factory settings and go through long process to try to get back to content I had.

Apple support told me on 9/22/15 (am) this a a new, major known issue.

Sounds like no one should take the chance until Apple fixes the release.

I think it is way too early to say how this release compares to others in terms of posts.  ios 9 just came out.

Why is it "way to early"? I had no problem saying it.

By this time with the previous releases, the posts about issues where overtaking the forums, and most had multiple pages already.

As of now, there have been a few posts about issues, but many of those have remained within 2 or 3 pages at most. Not the 10 or 15 pages they were accumulating in 1 or 2  days.

    Take this one for instance:

    iOS 8 Wi-Fi problems

Almost 15 pages in just 2 days of existence. In the same general period of time as we have currently.

Most of the posts regarding iOS 9  haven't even reached the 5 page mark since it was released.

All in all, iOS 9 so far has seen much less activity than previous versions in the same general period of time.

here is some additional informatino from a Yahoo news article earlier today.

Apple last week released iOS 9, a mobile OS upgrade that focuses on performance improvements and stability, though Apple included plenty of interesting new features in its latest OS as well. However, just like with previous iOS releases, there are some issues certain iPhone and iPad users might be dealing with, and the “Slide to Upgrade” bug is easily one of the most frustrating.

DON’T MISS: 85 legitimate iPhone apps that were infected with malware in the big App Store hack

Some iOS users are complaining that their iOS devices become unresponsive after the “Slide to Upgrade” screen appears when the iOS 9 update is being performed.

Apple is already aware of the issue, and has posted a guide that explains how to fix the frozen gadgets. iPhone savvy users will immediately recognize the procedure, as it’s basically a force restart and restore combo that can be used on any iOS devices that become unresponsive.

Apple said the problem will be fixed in an upcoming iOS 9 update, possibly iOS 9.1, which is already available in beta.

All users have to do is connect the affected iPhone, iPod or iPod touch to a Mac or PC using the USB cable. Then, they have to launch the iTunes app, if it doesn’t automatically open when the iOS device is plugged in.

Now, select the iPhone or iPad from the menu, after iTunes detects it, and then force restart it. That means simultaneously pressing and holding the home and the standby buttons for 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears on the screen. This fix should work regardless of the reason an iOS device becomes unresponsive, so remember it the next time the device freezes.

Next, users can perform a restore from an old backup via iTunes by selecting the device again, choosing the Summary tab, and then selecting Restore Backup from the Backupssection. If a backup isn’t available, users should simply make a backup of the device in iTunes, and then restore from it. And if the issue reappears, you can always visit an Apple retail store’s genius bar and seek further guidance.

Check out Apple’s support document at the source link for more details about the issue.

Thanks to bugs in Apple’s ios9 and the workaround procedure that doesn’t work [ https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205239 ], my iphone is a brick.

So you cannot text or call, and if you email, I will only get it when I get back to my pc.

Make sure to back-up your data.  And if you upgrade, turn off Find My iPhone first and leave it off til you are sure the upgrade is complete, since iTunes won’t back up your iphone if it detects Find My iPhone is on.

    Way to go, Apple!

I have updated my iPad 2 with it and have noticed significant negative operations.  Typing text is slow and choppy; emails are slow; all of the apps are slow.  This is a 64Gb iPad 2.
