Oct 31, 2015 4:11 PM in response to vickiefromkingmanby Ziggy142,Of course anything is worth a try, but it will have to be a solution that does not involve iTunes. As the Apple consultant in the USA told me, Apple engineers confirmed that synchronisation between Apple Notes and Outlook Notes has been totally deleted, so a third party application will be the only way to achieve this - if there is such a thing.
What does concern me is that if Apple is heading in some sort of direction to isolate itself from Microsoft Outlook, Apple may also remove synchronisation between Contacts and Calendar. If that happens, my iPhone will be useless for my business interests and I will throw it away and move to another platform entirely. I imagine that most business users will do the same.
The whole idea of the iPhone for me is to essentially use it as my portable office in my pocket when I am away from my home office. The three main applications that allowed me to conduct my business when away were Contacts, Calendar and Notes that synced to Outlook. Now Notes is permanently broken and if either or both the other two applications fail to sync with Outlook, it's goodbye iPhone and Apple for me.

Nov 1, 2015 10:36 AM in response to dan.willsby lawrencefrommarina del rey,Agree with you, Dan.
One heads up... It seems the notebooks will only sink if they are NOT closed. Otherwise, OneNote looks like it will be an exponentially better tool than Outlook notes. Apple's hiccup is my gain!

Nov 1, 2015 11:58 AM in response to lawrencefrommarina del reyby floatingkiwi,Also a deal breaker for me if ever contacts and calendars went - even though I've never sorted out the GMT + 12 bug for calendar items for us here in NZ.
What was the last version of ITunes that supported notes? It seems the last time I synced them was 18-Oct.

Nov 1, 2015 12:14 PM in response to floatingkiwiby lawrencefrommarina del rey,Not 100% sure, but the latest release--ios9--supports notes as long as you do not accept the notes upgrade; which is an additional step after upgrading to ios9.

Nov 1, 2015 4:00 PM in response to Ziggy142by kevin_yen,Being able to sync with Outlook Calendar, Contacts and Notes is the only reason I stay in iPhone camp. If Apple decides to take it away from me, I will say good-bye to iOS and join Android.

Nov 5, 2015 10:26 AM in response to dan.willsby phy_tsui,Hi Dan,
Can you sync OneNotes between PC and iPhone without going through the internet or cloud? Since I store a lot of confidential and private information in my Outlook Notes, I don't want to expose them to Internet or cloud.

Nov 5, 2015 11:10 AM in response to phy_tsuiby dan.wills,It doesn't appear you can avoid using Microsoft's cloud. I did a little searching, but didn't turn up any way to do that. I'm not concerned about my notes being out there (reminders, reference & todo lists), but i wouldn't want my contacts or files out there. Hence my aversion to iCloud. If iTunes stops syncing calendar & contacts with outlook, they're going to lose me altogether.

Nov 5, 2015 8:40 PM in response to dan.willsby kevin_yen,I cannot find a way to avoid the Microsoft OneDrive cloud either. Apple better fix this before I upgrade my phone. They are about to lose me as a customer.

Nov 5, 2015 9:32 PM in response to kevin_yenby Ziggy142,I will not use either iCloud or Microsoft Cloud services. So far, my iPhone contacts and calendar do sync to Outlook, but if Apple stuff this up like they did with Apple Notes, my partner and I and a few others will be heading for greener pastures, ditching our iPhones and Apple Watches. It's no good having this stuff if it doesn't function as it did for so many years.

Nov 11, 2015 7:40 PM in response to Ziggy142by boldlygocan,Have the same problem as everyone else here - no Notes syncing with the new iTunes and new IOS. SO I came up with a great solution - Evernote. It's free for what I need. Just copied all my notes to Evernote and sync'd with the iPhone app. Now I just open Evernote and keep it running on my desktop and use the Evernote app on the phone. This is the way to go - and it's free.

Nov 11, 2015 8:39 PM in response to boldlygocanby Ziggy142,Hey, that is fantastic. I just need Notes to sync with the phone to hold information that I need when I'm away from my home office. So the Evernote solution might be the answer for me and all those people that are furious that Apple Notes won't sync to Outlook Notes. I will download and install Evernote today and relegate Apple Notes to a folder on my iPhone with apps that I don't often use. Thanks very much for this information.

Nov 12, 2015 9:37 AM in response to Ziggy142by lawrencefrommarina del rey,Evernote and OneNote are both solid---and robust--alternatives. I've been using MS OneNote since my original posting 2 weeks ago and love it. It's free, intuitive and just plain works. Only catch is you need a OneDrive account.
