Nov 12, 2015 3:16 PM in response to lawrencefrommarina del reyby Ziggy142,I have just downloaded Evernote and from all appearances, it works fantastically. I transferred all my notes from Outlook, massaging them into shape if necessary, but that didn't take long.
The Evernote Windows desktop free basic version does far more than I ever need and it synced to the Evernote app on my iPhone by Wi-Fi without me even having to set it up. Obviously it must take the log-on details on my computer and iPhone and just does it all. FANTASTIC.
Evernote does all the stuff that the new format Apple Notes does, but it does a lot more, even in the free basic version. So far, in the past hour it has performed flawlessly and I relegated the Apple Notes app into a folder that contains all the other stuff that I don't use but can't delete from the iPhone. I dragged the Evernote app icon to the place where the Apple Notes icon used to be and GOODBYE APPLE NOTES.
I wonder if the Evernote people will bring out the same sort of thing for Contacts and Calendar and wire them all in together and then I would consider giving Outlook the boot, although I love that program. But I only use Outlook Contacts and Calendar, now that I will be using Evernote, so let's see what apps show up that work as well as Evernote.
GOOD NEWS - Evernote does NOT require cloud services for syncing unlike Onenote, so for me, Evernote is by far the preferred app.

Nov 19, 2015 6:45 PM in response to messygentby Ziggy142,I think the idea is not to transfer notes from Outlook to the iPhone, but to be able to synchronise those notes all the time, as was previously done until Apple stuffed it up.
After having explored most ideas, I settled for an app called Evernotes, which I described previously. I don't like Cloud services, but what I did was to make Evernotes on my iPhone sync with Evernotes on my office computer via Wi-Fi only. So far, this seems to have gotten around the traffic limit that Evernotes imposes for sync via their cloud, so I don't seem to have a problem in running out of bandwidth doing it this way.
I must say that it really is an excellent piece of software and so far, it's working a treat. I would hope that Microsoft makes Outlook Notes compatible with the new iPhone Notes format and they re-instate syncing, but I'm not holding my breath. So I will stick with Evernotes, as it's doing the job admirable in the way I configured it.

Nov 22, 2015 8:57 AM in response to Ziggy142by NotImpressedApple,This is exactly how I feel. I just noticed this issue, and am dumb founded that apple would risk losing it's Microsoft Office/Outlook faithful! The only reason I bought my iphone was that I can sync it with my Outlook. It's the only reason I've kept my iphone, now if this doesn't get resolved timely I'll use my upgrade for an Android device! Apple, what are you thinking? And why don't you reply in these forums providing resolution? You are turning into the 1990's Microsoft!

Dec 4, 2015 7:33 PM in response to NotImpressedAppleby zannonmyko,I Tried Evernote but couldn't access my notes offline with the free version. I'm using Simplenote. It's really "simple" and saves the notes on the phone for offline access.
There's a program called Resophnotes that import exported notes from Outlook and syncs with Simplenote so, the migration is easy.

Dec 6, 2015 11:53 AM in response to zannonmykoby CambNorm,I'm not a computer wiz but thanks to everyone whose written on this subject I am very grateful. Without your input I would have wasted hours trying to solve this issue. I would agree with previous comment(s) that Apple seems to be losing its way. I'm now going to seriously look at latest Windows phones. I'm not expert enough to keep looking around for 3rd party software to solve a problems created by Apple updates. Hopefully sticking to MS stuff on all devices will solve such problems.

Dec 28, 2015 3:00 AM in response to CarlB56by dettlin,Hy everybody.
With IOS9 there is no way to synch with OUTLOOK unless you buy somer third party software. There are versions that allow you to try for some days, and are useful if you want to synch data with OUTLOOK.
BUT now you have to decide if you want ONLY to synch with ICLOUD or not..Specially if you have several devices, it must be imperative....If you decide to synch with the iCLOUD for now on (until they fix the glitch) here is a suggestion to transfer all NOTES to your ICLOUD in a single step. As the iPhone or iPAD has now a Folder called "On my iPhone" and "on my iPAD" there is no way to save and synch your notes between devices , externally: YOU MUST HAVE everything in the cloud.
I had around 1000 notes and the process of copy-paste is out of the question for many of you as well, and I guess in 9.2 these become available :
1---Of course , do a back up of all your notes previously in OUTLOOK... (you will never know what will happen)
2- What you shall do is open the NOTES app located = "on my IPAD" - AFter that you MOVE THEM ALL ( Edit >>>>MOVE THEM ALL
3- The NOtes will go to your iphone, as they will synch in the cloud.
4- To synch with outlook: There are free apps that synch with Google accounts ...Add your Google account and choose the "NOTES" only in the definitions of your Phone/pad ....Then you must move them all to the Cloud as described before, if you like to keep them organised.

Dec 28, 2015 3:12 AM in response to CarlB56by dettlin,What I suggest is :
---Create a gmail account and synch your notes using Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook® (GASMO)
---Add the Google account to your iPHONE...in Settings CHOOSE Notes only to synch
I have decided to synch all in the iCloud only from now on, ( I have several iPhone/ipad devices )
If you decedie to do this in 9.2, there is a new folder that will be created called "on my iPHONE" . Go to EDIT and move all , and choose iCLOUD-
Please observe that NOTES and OUTLOOK notes will no longer synch anyway, until Apple decides to do this. I disagree with Apples bad bussiness decission, as they are telling everybody to migrate and use Microsoft solutions. I hope they revert the situation soon.

Dec 28, 2015 3:17 AM in response to Ziggy142by dettlin,Evernote requires a subscription. It si not free. You can do somethngs for a time but not be able to do later. It happened to me , so Ido not reccomedn.
Better use Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook® (GASMO) or similar and then add your Google account in the iphone-
