How to remove a virus on Mac OS x 10.6.8 ?

1. There are no viruses for Mac, so you need to explain what your issue is in more depth.

2. Avoid McAfee. If will cause you more grief, as there are no viruses to find.

What you are experience is sadly normal on todays internet. Spam pop ups, some claiming you have a virus, others telling you that you need protective programs such as Mackeeper and others just plain annoying advertising.

Firstly download and run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac, to scan and remove any Adware or Malware you may have accidentally downloaded then installed. It is safe and has been created by a high standing member of these communities for just such purposes. If you are not comfortable downloading it then try the manual but harder way
