Photos for MacNo there is no IOS for Mac - it is OS X - IOS is only for mobile devices
Drag the iPhoto library to the Photos icon in the Dock to migrate the library - after migration you will have both libraries but it is best to keep both and deleting one does not save very much space as hard links are used to allow each library to use the masters and previews without duplicating them - Photos saves disk space by sharing images with your iPhoto or Aperture libraries - Apple Support

Dec 11, 2015 5:06 PM in response to LarryHNby ginasdad,When I drag the Iphoto Library to the Photo icon in the dock it imports 2300 of 3400 photos. This also happened when I opened the Photo app. I rebuilt my iphoto library and got all the photos but then a while later photo reverted to the 2300 photos. This all happened when Photos first came out so I thought things might have improved but not so. Any ideas?
