Anybody having problems with the podcast app?

Same here. Not sure if yours is doing this part, but in my case it says "updating library" for about 20-30 seconds and then the screen goes completely black, then I'm tossed out of the application. Are you on a 5th generation iPod Touch? That's what I'm using.

I'm starting to wonder if Apple has a large enough Quality Assurance department working on checking these iOS updates against hardware from the previous generation that's listed as compatible on the update page.

The IOS 9 update for the podcast app is HORRIBLE! It's chaotic now, and I can't rewind or fast forward within the app, and some of the text on the playback screen on black on a black tab. I'm not going to upgrade my iPad until forced. Whoever designed this made a huge mistake.

I seen someone else had trouble with he podcast app. It was missing skip buttons etc. I think you need to backup and restore the device it might have had a faulty update.

Well backed up and restored the iPod touch 5g using iTunes, still no search screen. I would guess it's a setting I have missed or it's just not supported on this device.

Update: Backed up and restored phone, (took a very long time) and still having the same problem. No change with the Podcast app at all.Everything is completely messed up. How do I correct a "Bad Update?" I've never heard of this. I'm using iPhone 5c.

yes I updated my iPod Touch 5th and is keeps saying "updating library" and if just completely kicks you out of the app!!! Please FIX THIS ITS ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same problem. Search screen in Podcast app is blank. When I choose an app in iTunes I get taken to the blank screen in the Podcast app. So, basically, I can no longer add podcasts to the app. They need to fix this bug ASAP!
