Hi All,
if I connect an external USB3.0 is not working, everything looks good with USB2.0.
Tried to Reset SMC (not sure how to check if has been reset or no) and PVRAM but nothing changed.
What could I do?
I'm running Yosemite 10.10.5

left port not working at all, right port seems to see the device but keeps disconnecting.
Make an appointment to the apple genius bar it sounds like you might have a hardware problem.

I would try as final solution but I have 2 mac books pro with the same problem and usb3 used to work in the past.
The problem may be with the unidentified device. Can you change cables and or enclosures?

I will try, but what about the fact that the port on the right is seeing it but not able to activate?
I'm guessing that you may have one of those rare instances where the hardware is manufactured/damaged out of specified tolerances.
