Q: Watch OS 2.0 has caused flashing apple icon

My 42mm Sports watch was working well but while updating to OS 2.0 it went into a boot loop.
I'm now in day three where my watch is flashing the apple logo and won't boot. Spent countless hours with Apple Support trying various things such as force booting, unpairing etc all to no avail. My status is waiting for someone from Engineering to contact me, I'm told that the latest that will happen is tomorrow.
any help appreciated.

    Hi Julian

You are already doing what needs to be done (contacting Apple).

This is a known potential behaviour (see below - and perhaps refer the Engineering contact to the document). You may be asked to try placing your watch on the charger for 4 hours, with power connected. You could try this whilst waiting to hear back, but others who have experienced the same issue have reported here that it did not help.

If you are asked to return your watch for repair / replacement under warranty, ask about the availability of mail-in service (if it would be more convenient for you).

"If you see the Apple logo or a red exclamation mark during startup, and your Apple Watch appears to restart or never fully starts up, contact Apple Support."

If your Apple Watch doesn't respond or won't turn on - Apple Support

Thanks Jonathan, I hope it gets resolved or replaced soon, I miss having my watch on my wrist, we've bonded
I have tried leaving it for long periods on and off the charger, it didn't change anything.

Wonder why they are having someone call you at all.  There isn't much we can do on our end but go through the reboots and unpair/re-pair process.  Either way if you have to send it in it's a quick process.  I called in yesterday and my box was delivered today at 10am and I've already dropped it back off to go out tonight.  They do FedEx priority overnight so that's a plus!  Good luck I'm having withdraws and it's only been one day lol!

thanks for your response, did you have the same issue/symptom as I am having, if so then indeed they should just send me a replacement, please let me know.

Mine was the red exclamation but from the sounds of it they are both similar.

Apple contacted me about my watch that had gone into a loop after installing OS 2.0 and said I should update to 9.01 and that would fix the watch, I did it but it didn’t work, my new watch is on the way, should arrive in 24 hours, whew!

They agreed to send me a new one and I would send my old one back within a certain amount of time. But the saga aint over, I got notice that my new watch had shipped but they were replacing my wife's 38mm instead of my 42mm, so I am about to call them and straighten it out.
