Yahoo in messages keeps disconnecting

I have successfully used messages to access my Yahoo Instant messenger acoount for over a year but it has recently started to immediately disconnect after connecting and showing my buddy list

Hi,

I have the same issue and as there are not effective controls fro this in Preferences> Accounts > Yahoo Account it cannot be fixed buy the user.

I had this same exact issue. I resoved it by going to Yahoo.com online and logging out. I guess it saw too many connected sessions. Ever since Messages has stayed connected.

Hi,

Was that because, like some services, you are kept logged in if you didn't specifically Log out (Google's default period is 2 weeks and I think AIM's is the same) ?

i.e. you might have used a web log in but not logged but and only dismissed the page or Quit the Browser so 2 weeks on it still holds the login.
