How can I delete the selfie/screenshots albums without deleting photos from the camera roll?

You cannot remove these albums, if yu still have photos that match the constraints for these albums.

you actually can remove the album. but it requires that you know a little bit about how digital images work, you need a program that can remove exif data from the images. I used lightroom to clear all the exif data and resynced, and poof.. no more selfie album

But I would not want to remove the exif lens data from my photos. It is annoying to be forced to remove exif tags and mutilate the data to get rid of a silly album.
