Q: Where is my iPhoto

I just had the OS reinstalled on my MacBook Pro and today I realized that iPhoto and other apps that normally comes with the operating system is not there. How do I install iPhoto again?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

iPhoto and other iLife applications do not come with MacOS, the come preinstalled on a new Mac, but are not part of MacOS X.

So you need to reinstall iPhoto from the original sources. If you already updated to iPhoto 9.6.1, you can reinstall iPhoto from your Purchase history at the AppStore.  Sign into the AppStore and open the fourth tab, Purchases. Then reinstall from the list of your purchased apps.

If it is not there, restore iPhoto from your backup you made, before you reinstalled the system.

Apple stopped selling iPhoto, so you cannot purchase it again. You need your backup or the original installers.
