SSince upgrading to IOS 9 I have been unable to search in mail. When I try maybe the name will come up but that is as far as it goes. If I tap on the name I get From, To and Message come up but I can't do anything with it.
ANy suggestions?

Same problem here unfortunately. Thanks to your post and this following thread here, I see I am not alone, although no solution to help us from what I have seen. I cannot search email with IOS 9
I just discovered that if I wait 20 to 30 seconds the search result will actually appear. It is odd as this is performing much different since IOS 9. I would be curious if others are in fact getting their search results if waiting, let's say 20 to 60 seconds.
I also have the same problems. Only with iPad, which has ios9 update. Not with mac running beta of el Capitan. Or iPhone 5s running iOS latest 8.??
I have 4 or 5 emails from hotels.com. I type hotels.com into the search bar, and 2:03:53 later I get the most recent one. Never all 4 or 5 no matter how long I wait. On the mac it is nearly instantaneous, and lists all of the emails from the sending account., including some fro
m a few years ago.
Very frustrating that the search was changed. It used to work so well.
Same here since iOS 9 my search in mail was significantly slower on all devices 3rd gen iPad, iPhone 5 & 4s. Was hoping 9.0.1 patch would fix it - it did not.

The SEARCH MAIL (email) feature on the NEW iPAD with iOS 9 (etc)
is now A DISASTER.
