Q: can I have 2 apple ids?

I currently have a personal apple ID, but I would like to start a work email as well. Does apple allow you to have multiple IDs and link them?

You can have multiple AppleIDs, but but you can access only one at a time in iCloud. Or you can use only one at a time at the AppStore or with iTunes.

It would be easier to create a second email alias for your AppleID than to have the complication of two separate IDs.

Yes, you can have as many Apple IDs as you want. But that can lead to confusion.  Apps are forever tied to the ID that bought them, and will require it for updates. And you can only use one Apple ID at a time on devices and services with Apple.  And there is no way to link or merge Apple IDs.

Why does the work Email need to be an Apple ID?

Are you planning on purchasing things with the work related Apple ID?

Is there any reason it needs to be an Apple Id beyond just a standard email address? i.e you can have an email address without it being an Apple ID.
