Slide to upgrade and iOS 9.01.

One of our employees was victim of the Slide to Unlock bug. I worked with him to restore his phone back to the way it was before 9.0.0 but for some reason it would restore from his last backup (which he did before he upgraded) but then immediately upgrade to 9.0.0 and he would get the bug again.

He set up his iPhone as new, but he really wants to get his data back from his last backup.

It appears that this will fix the issue? Anyone tried it yet?
