Q: iMessages on a Mac problem

Is anyone having problems sending or receiving texts on iMessages on their Mac from Android users?

Suddenly today iMessages, on my MBP running the latest version of Yosemite, has stopped sending or receiving texts from Android users. My iPhone still sends and receives them.

By doing several of the suggestions at this website, I was able to get Messages working on my MBP again.

I have no idea which one worked.

As an aside, when did Apple start using "application specific passwords"?

If you have 2 step verification for your Apple ID enabled, then you need application specific passwords.
