Q: Keychain not syncing

I have a mail account on an Exchange server which can only be accessed by webmail, or on iOS using Exchange Activesync.

All works fine until the account requires me to change the password after 42 days. I create a new one on Mac using the secure password suggested by Safari. This saves fine in the Keychain.

Unfortunately the password doesn't get synced across into my iPhone and iPad, at least not into the Exchange server settings in Mail. Maybe this is to be expected because the Mac Keychain contains a webmail password rather than credentials for the EAS account in Mail on iOS?

But, even if I type the new password into my iPhone Mail account, it *still* doesn't sync to iPad.

I have iCloud setup on all 3 devices, with the Keychain option turned on.

Unfortunately the server is not only configured to insist on frequent password resets, it also locks me out if I get the password wrong 3 times. And if my iPad keeps trying to retrieve mail using the old password (which it does even when I'm not looking), this is enough to lock me out of the account completely and I have to contact their support team.

Does anyone have have any ideas?

I Should have mentioned that Mac is MacBook Pro 17" running latest version of Yosemite and iOS devices are running on OS9.

have you found a solution for this issue?

I have the same exact problem, passwords doesn't sync on keychain between my devices. I have a macbook pro 15 mid 2015 that i work with. I have a lot of website passwords saved in my macbook keychain, that doesn't reflect in my iPhone 6s keychain.

To make the iPhone sync i have to turn off and turn on the keychain on the phone with the boring verification sequence every time i switch on/off the keychain

I believe that OP provided answer in his original question. According to article below mail passwords only sync over Mac computers, not IOS. So when you change passwords for such occasion you need to keep all of your devices updated the same moment you change.

Hi!

thank you for the answer. But my issue is not involving mail accounts but just safari passwords.

Syncing website passwords between device is very important to me, i can't always turn off and on the keychain, this feature is supposed to work automatically

I don't want to switch to chrome...although the sync functionality in chrome works like a charm
