Two Adobe Flash Player Installs on Computer?
Hey guys. First, this may be the wrong area, my apologies if so. Scenario: I got a msg to update to Adobe Flash Player 19.0.0.185 yesterday. Went to Adobe’s site to verify it, and went thru the process of downloading it. I went to downloads folder, found dmg. file, clicked on it.. It comes up as an Install flash player on my desktop. I go to the process of installing, but now I have two flash players: the new one sitting on my desk top as an install icon you can eject and my older version that is in my applications window dated “Aug 29, 2014” when I click Get Info. This one also reads as “Install Adobe Flash Player”. I’m wondering am I supposed to get rid of this old one…put it in trash, or do I keep it? The newer one looks like the standard “install” zip drive-looking thing. The folder one in my apps doesn’t look like a “true folder” if you will, because it says “Install Flash Player”. And I don’t see an unistall anywhere for this so I’m guessing I can’t uninstall and then download the new one. I don’t mean to sound so stupid, but I always thought when there was an update like this Adobe automatically overrides the older version in my applications…or maybe this isn’t how it actually works (maybe my computer’s getting old(?)) I guess I’m saying I don’t want any unnecessary items in my mac. If I can dump this old one I’d like to but I’m kinda scared to because I don’t know if Flash Player will screw up if I do this. I’m looking around on the net and not finding a lot of advice, so this is kind of my last stop before I hit Apple store. Help me please, if you can, and thanks.
