My 2008 iPhone 3G was stolen. I understand it can be tracked with triangulation if it is powered on. Is there anyone who has had success locating their phone with this system?
iMac (21.5-inch Late 2009), Mac OS X (10.6.8)
A question......how would you gain access to equipment that could use triangulation? Law enforcement can - with a warrant. Private citizens...certainly not.

Yes, this would be handled by law enforcement agencies. I would like to know if anyone has successfully located their phone through this method.

Law enforcement has certainly been successful at doing this. However, it is unlikely they will be willing to do this unless someone's life is endanger.
