iMessage FaceTime not working on iPad since ios9 update...error states cannot connect to iMessage server

I Have same issue even with update today. They need a fix. Must not work with older iPads?

It works now after the .02 update not the .01

I reset settings as suggested by Apple forum but to no avail. iMessage will not recognise my iphone number! And all this after having to reset all passwords, wallpaper, ringtones. wifi, bluetooth. Very disappointed.
