Sep 24, 2015 7:03 AM in response to mikegledholtby BobHarris,Does your Mac mini support 802.11n 5GHz WiFi or does it just have the older 802.11g 2.4GHz WiFi radio?
802.11g 2.4GHz WiFi tends to top out around 25 megabits/second (more or less).
This does assume that your WiFi base station supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz radios.
Also location, location, location. Were you measuring each device from identical locations relative to the WiFi base station? Many things can interfere with WiFi transmissions, including distance, metal appliances, walls (especially walls that use metal studs, or concrete walls with rebar), kitchen appliances (stove, refrigerator, metal cabinets in the line of sight), other radio sources (microwave ovens, 2.4GHz cordless phones, 2.4GHz baby monitors, other WiFi base stations - all of these could be yours or your close neighbors), some poorly shielded USB-3 devices or their USB-3 cables.

Sep 24, 2015 8:23 AM in response to BobHarrisby mikegledholt,HI Bob, thanks for your speedy reply. My macmini is the 802.11g model which would indicate that it is operating at its maximum from the info you gave me. The iPad achieving 37mb is right next to it so there's no discrepancy there. I'm also having trouble with my Ethernet but that may well be the router / hub. Thanks again for your help, much appreciated. Best regards, Mike

Sep 24, 2015 9:22 AM in response to mikegledholtby Lanny,Note: The abbreviation for megabits is "Mb."
"mb" = millibits
Mbps or Mb/s = Megabits per second, are the units for measuring speed.
