iOS9 Mail Push Issue

After upgrading to iOS9 mail is not pushing. I have verified that my push is set to "fetch" every 15 minutes. Only will pull down email when I go into the mail program.

Hello there,
I think I have a solution . It's not iOS 9 or the device. It is up to my iCloud account !!!
I have created a second Apple-ID and created me a new icloud adress. Then I signed up with the new account and push working properly !!!
Something is wrong with our " old " account .
Now we need a nice and enabled Apple employees who is able to reset reset the not working accounts or even take a look at these.
Sorry for my bad english .....

I just finished a lengthy and frustrating chat session with Apple. I had deleted my accounts and was attempting to re-add them. However because of additional setting functions that Apple has changed it made it quite an ordeal. So far it appears I am able to get my mail to Push again on the 15 minute interval I have set up. The Apple Tech I spoke with said she would make sure they are aware of my complaint about the "Fetch" functionality being affected since the iOS 9.x.x updates. So my only advice, try deleting an re-creating your accounts.

If you are using Gmail, Google removed support for push to the native Mail app on iPhones quite some time ago. If you ever tried to set up Gmail on a new device sometime after early 2013 then most found that they could no longer get push to work and the only option was to fetch. Here is an article that describes the situation:

As you see in the article, some older users were grandfathered in but once they get a new iPhone then they no longer get push Gmail. This was a decision by Google and not Apple. From what I have read, the easiest way to get push email from Google is to use the Gmail app rather than the native Mail app.
