Q: Using empty space on iCloud for music currently on my MacBook Pro. I purchase 200 GB each month to have space for my Photos for Mac OS X. But I use only
Because my Photos for Mac OS X library is 78 GB currently, I pay for a 200 GB subscription to iCloud. I do not subscribe to iTunes Match, but would like to upload my 49 GB music flibrary the unused space I pay for monthly and save that space on the 256 GB SSD I put into my 2012 MBP in lieu of the 500 GB HD it came with. Is this possible? Would I be allowed to download songs from my iCloud purchased space to listen to but leave them in iCloud ? I currently am a trial user of iMusic but may not elect to keep it after Oct 1, 2015. This should be easy to research on Apple's support pages, but I am confused by all the verbiage about iTunes Match and iMusic and cannot seem to find a direct answer to this question. It appears Apple wishes me to subscribe to iCloud, iTunes Match and iMusic when all I really want to do is keep my photos and music files safe from loss and occasionally listen to music I already own and would like to download to my iPhone or iPad when apart from my MacBook Pro. Thoughts?
