Why am I getting logged out of iTunesU Course Manager?

I manage my course through Safari on a MacBook Pro running OS X (10.10.5). iTunesU is incredibly unstable and I often get instantly logged out. One thing that is sure to get me booted is trying to edit a post, especially if the post already has an assignment attached to it. I also had a ton of trouble editing my course outline.

Anybody know of a solution?
