This is just one of the reports I get. What is happening to my computer? If I need to add something please help....

Another things is once in a while I get a message that I'm low on memory?

Thanks In Advance,

Diane

By looking at your hardware specs, you should be able upgrade to 10.10.

Apple store can help you with this.

OS X 10.10 is much better than 10.9, in terms of RAM Usage.

I will recommend 10.11.1, (now at 10.11.0).

Safari took a huge RAM just for browsing Large Images.

Upgrade to 8G will help you a lot.

Again goto your local Apple store for help.

Oct 27, 2015 11:17 AM in response to PanoCropViewer

Thank You PanoCropViewer for your response.

I updated as you suggested 8 more Gigs so now have 12. I don't dare to upgrade to the next OS X 10.10 or the 10.11.1 b/c the things I have read isn't very good. I purchased the Office:Mac 2011 with Word that I use on my Imac now b/c I prefer to use word over any other and what I have read it won't work on the other OS. If you can assure me it would work I would be happy to upgrade.

I also have Firefox that I use that was crashing but since I added the 8G's it has only crashed once. I lost most of my bookmarks on Safari so Im worried to save and use that as my search engine.

I also wanted to add that I use the Outlook for my emails and really don't want to loose what I have in it. If the program won't work in the newer OS than I would loose everything.

Any suggests word be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in Advance,

Diane

Hi, Diane.

If you have a lot of problem with Firefox, or Chrome, drag the App from Applications to Trash, reboot the system and download a new version .

If You still have problem, Goto Settings - > User and Group - > your account - > see what is on the Login Items.

If You know which one you don't need , remove it. (examples, helpers can be deleted)

If You have enough Hard drive space, use Disk Manager , resize 10.9 partition, allow 100G for A new partition,

goto App Store Download Yosemite (not 10.11) and install it on the new partition.

Test your App on the new OS, if the new OS works out, backup all data and delete 10.9 and use it as a data partition.

Under settings, use STARTUP DISK APP, to change startup OS.

You can google, how to dual boot Yosemite and Mavericks.

Wait a few more months, before trying 10.11 (it used a new technology called, metal, may cause video driver error on Quicktime.)

Also, minimum space for 10.10 is 40G.

Alternatively, if it works out on 10.10,

Backup all important Data (Very important) to USB drive.

Install 10.10 on top of 10.9, this will save your bookmarks and other data,

If problems, still exist, that means your original filesystem of 10.9 is corrupted, then you have no choice, but delete the 10.9 and install 10.10 new.

Sorry PanoCrropViewer, None of this makes since to me. Im not that good with a mac pc. I wasn't able to find settings although I did find disk utility and the

partition but it looks like there is only one. This is a screen shot. I think I would have to take this pc to a shop for them to do this as Im not sure I would understand what they are telling me to do. If I was showed how to do it I would be good to go, but reading to follow directions is not good for me. I have a clickfree back up but have no Idea how to transfer anything to my computer if I even needed to. I had help setting it up....Right now it seems to be running ok, but I know I will have to upgrade sooner or later. Im just worried I will loose my data and emails. I am trying to transition to web base email, but I really like the outlook and it would be a long time to change everything. What do you think?

The Above are not native drivers, unless you replaced your internal HD with seagate,

But you, still don’t want to use third party drivers

Unless it is absolutely needed, DO NOT install third party drivers.

The only exceptions, are: Brand-Name Printer Drivers, like Canon Printer.

Not even. Mouse Driver from Logitech.

Is this what you mean by dragging the lower right corner up to 100.44? That is how to partition? I see how you separated the crash report in which I will have to investigate it. This is all Greek to me.

Im not sure what these two lines mean? I will have to google them to lean more about it. Like I said I have know Idea what this all means!

Yes, but you drag too much.

almost, half. only

click the bottom half, and format it or erase it.

After you set the size of the original partition, (now at 100G, not good)

Click Apply, will take a while to resize.

reboot

and

format the bottom partition, may need to click + button.

i did not have 10.9 for a long time, an old man like me, need google it too,

Found this, may help

Not sure if I will just go with web base mail and save docs to my computer. Im sick of having to move things all the time.

Im sure your not old, things change so much.....Have a Great night and thank you for all your help. I may respond to you later after I change things up here and may need more help, If it is ok.....
