Reinstall final cut studio on macbook pro

Hi All,

I have a full version of final cut studio (first edition) and the upgrade pack to final cut studio 3 (fcp7 etc.) however my laptop running osx 10.9.5 says that I can no longer open power pc programs. This means I am unable to install the first suit only to upgrade it to the 3rd which is still supported. I have had it on this laptop before but wasn't using the software for a while so deleted to create space on my HD

Does anyone know of a way of getting around this situation, or do i need to downgrade my OS so that I can open the first edition of FCS or can apple upgrade my upgrade version of FCS3 to a full version somehow.
