Mac Pro wifi won't turn on

I have a late 2013 Mac Pro running OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 whose wifi won't turn on. I am connected to the internet via a cable as well but use the wifi for airdrop and location services. Any idea of why and how to fix this? It won't come on whether selected via the menu bar or the system preferences tab.

Zapping the pram doesn't fix the problem for me. After resetting the pram, wi-fi will work for a couple of days at most and then won't turn on without another restart.
