Q: I have a Macbook Pro retina and I am trying to copy photos to external hard drive and retain all the  original info. Their are around 10,000 Photos including 156 videos. I am trying to dump them into one folder to creat space on my computer?

I am trying back up my phone but my Computer is nearly full so it won't do the update until I make room. So I am trying to export all my photos to my Lacie External hard drive so I can clear space on my computer. My problem is that I've put all the photos into one file and now the info on each photo reads as of todays date.

How can I transfer a large 10,000 number of Photos to one folder and keep all their original data?

The dates the photos have not changed, only the date of the file that contains the photos - two different things

and you can not put al photos in one file - you may have put them in one folder

and you can not keep all information when exporting photos - to keep all information you need to drag you library to an external drive formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) and fully test it before deleting it on the internal drive
