Q: ios9 fails connecting to Kirkland ks6 from iPad.  Should I go back to 8?

My hearing aids worked fine with my iPhone and iPad until I upgraded to ios9. Anyone else seen this?  Any obvious fixes?

I would check with the hearing aid manufacturer to see if it is compatible with iOS 9. Also, are they connecting with Bluetooth? If so, what troubleshooting have you tried with the Bluetooth.

As far as your question about iOS 8, there is no way for you to do that, as Apple does not support downgrading of iOS.

Thanks I will ask the manufacturer.  Yes they connect via Bluetooth and have been working just fine for months.

I backed up before upgrading, so can't I wipe and restore?  I am so disappointed with ios9 - most nothing works on my retina iPad

You can wipe and restore, but that does not downgrade the iOS. You do not report any troubleshooting like I asked. I suggest that you remove the hearing aids from the list of devices in the phone, and the put the hearing aids back in discovery/pairing mode and attempt to pair them again. If that does not work, then you can try removing them from the list and if you want to try and do a reset on the aids. However, before you attempt to do that, I suggest you make sure the manufacturer agrees with this. Their devices may not be compatible with iOS 9. Only they can tell you that to start with.

If you are having troubles with other features of iOS 9 on the iPad, you need to define and or troubleshoot them. You don't say you have done any troubleshooting.

TThanks.  Perhaps I have forgotten the secret procedure for putting the hearing aids in pairing mode.  Time to RTFM.

No luck.  Followed instructions to the letter, but no pairing.  I Notice that Apple now says "made for iPad" hearing aids, so perhaps they intended to kick me off the iPad.  I guess I better not get a new phone.

When you contacted the manufacturer, what did they say about the device's compatibility with iOS 9?

I would go back to Costco (they are the supplier of "Kirkland" products and list your hearing aids on their Web site) and ask them for assistance.

Don't forget that it is the device manufacturer's responsibility to ensure continued operation with a new version of iOS.

Finally got it to work - there is no problem with the hearing aids, I had to reboot the iPad

SOme bug in the OS, I guess.

You should always reboot when you upgrade the iOS.
