Since installing OS 2 my Apple Watch no longer opens 3rd party native apps.

They simply crash.....

I have tried reinstalls and re-pairing...nothing works...

I am not the only one with this issue....is there a fix coming??????

A reset and restore of both devices has been reported to resolve this issue:

Unpair your watch from your iPhone using the Apple Watch app (this also refreshes the watch backup):

    - Apple Watch app > My Watch > General > Apple Watch > Unpair Apple Watch.

    Backup your iPhone:

    - via iCloud (encrypted as standard) or

    - via iTunes on a computer - IMPORTANT: choose to "Encrypt iPhone backup", so that the backup includes Health data along with saved passwords, Wi-Fi settings and website history.

Erase all content and settings on your iPhone:

    - On your iPhone: Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.

    Restore iPhone from backup:

    - Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

Pair and set up your watch:

    - Choose to restore the watch from backup when offered the option during set up.

    - This will restore most of data and settings except for: Apple Pay cards, passcode, synced playlist, Bluetooth pairings.

    - Set up your Apple Watch - Apple Support

I have done this 3 times and it has NOT removed the issue.

Given the number of other people who are also experiencing this issue...after moving to OS2, I think there is a problem with implementation of the WatchKit and 3rd party native apps.

I have tried every single solution proposed by people on chat boards...and nothing has worked. I am not alone in that result.

In that case, I suggest that you contact Apple Support:

    https://www.apple.com/support/watch/contact/

And/or you can let Apple know about the issue via the feedback form:

I have the same problem and have a case open with Apple support.  None of the suggested remove restore options work for  me.

Also note that it appears elsewhere as an issue to lots of people on the net:

    http://forums.macrumors.com/threads/native-apps-do-not-load.1919307/page-22

    https://www.reddit.com/r/AppleWatch/comments/3luul2/upgraded_to_os2_all_native_a pps_just_crash/

Odd that it "appears" to be a new issue when you raise it and yet so many people are affected.

Same here. I have about 10 apps that crash when I opened them and I noticed that they're mostly the ones with the complication feature. On the Watch Faces, their complications just display the name of the app and when I tap on the app, it brings me to it, shows me the buffer wheel for awhile before crashing again. The other apps e.g. Twitter, Instagram are completely fine. I've done everything to fix it but no luck. When will Apple fix this? It's getting very frustrating because those are my favorite apps.

I Fixed my Apple Watch apps crashing (such as Facebook and itranslat) by deleting all my (85.6GB of) music off my iPhone 6 via general>usage>music and delete. Strange how this stops my apps hanging on loading before crashing out but hey, it worked! I tried everything prior to this, from restoring phone and watch and rebooting it and unpairing.

I too have this issue.  And while the delete all music approach works, it's only temporary, particularly when older apps update or you add new ones. The first time that you restart the watch, the problem comes back.

Please see updates to an earlier thread posted and what I just attempted to do to fix the issue - to no avail.

    Apple are you listening?

Just like native apps, I too am failing... to realize how this issue is still going on after all this time. And no, deleting my whole music collection from my iPhone is not a solution. Or even worse, telling people to go through the process of restoring their devices. That only shows how weak the system is. What troubles me most is how Apple is doing absolutely nothing about it, considering posts over the internet mentioning this problem date back to September 2015. Especially now when Apple needs developers to create their native apps for the Watch, I do not see how this is supposed to motivate them.

I have same issues as you did. None of the well known ways (restore, reset, re-pair...) can solve the problem. The keynote on AW also crashes and is not working at all.

There is a fix I already tried and it did succeeded but it is really annoying for me to do.

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO is go to Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage > Manage Storage > Music

and slide "All Songs" to the left and click "DELETE"

it will delete all the songs in your music app but it will fix launching all the apps in your apple watch

    THANKS
