Q: iOS 9.0.1 on iPhone 4S and low User Memory

Hi All,

I own an iPhone 4S 8GB and I'm happy with my phone until I saw the latest update to iOS 9.0.1 and memory availability.

I see that the 8GB iPhone gives me only 5.3GB of available storage, that's what it shows in the Settings as well as on iTunes. I am surprised, and no wonder somebody sued Apple for deceiving customers in the name of available memory. So, let me make this clear - 8GB iPhone gives 5.3GB to customers, but where did the 2.7GB go? If you buy a 500GB laptop and install Windows 7 on it, we can clearly see that 10GB if is taken by the OS, the rest 490GB will be available for the user, even if a system restore is created, still at-least 450GB will be available to the user. But here in iOS, I see 2.7GB already used by the device which lets the users have only 5.3GB available, out of which 1.3GB is again taken by iOS 9.0.1.

I am very much confused here... if I am correct in my above points, Apple is fooling customers and charging more from us by providing less memory. They should have advertised the device as iPhone 5GB instead of 8GB.

Also, is everyone using iPhone 8GB has only 5.3GB user memory availability or anyone there having more ?
