Iphone 6S unresponsive right after unlock

I have the exact same problem. iPhone 6s+ 128GB AT&T. Fresh install (not from backup). Unresponsive for a few seconds, then it functions normally. On one occasion my 2 pages of apps would alternate (or freeze) while scrolling. In other words I could scroll to the right continuously and switch between my 2 pages of apps. The same thing would happen if I scroll to the left. That has only happened once so far.

Have you tried a hard reset or restored again? Sometimes the OS can become corrupted during the download.

No more issues. I updated to iOS 9.01......I don't know what caused the problem (or what fixed it). Good thing is that I'm not having any issues.

Having same issues -- iPhone 6S, 128GB, AT&T. This thread has some other reports. I had this occurring with a fresh-from-the-box setup on 9.0.0, so I don't think that restoring from a backup can be to blame (though it still occurred for me after restoring from a backup).

I'm going to try a factory restore once more and see if that makes a difference. I'll keep my fingers crossed, but my hopes are rather low at the moment.

Be patient. It seems to clear itself up. The factory reset may prolong the issue.

Yep mine has cleared up now... No problems at all

I started the factory reset immediately after hitting "reply" before -- that said, I left it locked for 30 minutes post-reset, and everything was perfectly responsive after unlocking! 😕

After restoring from backup and copying over all of my apps/music, everything still seems ... fine. I'm not complaining, but I'd also love to have a better explanation than "magic" as for the cause and resolution of this issue.

Did you upgrade from 9.0 to 9.0.1 while doing the restore?

My factory restore prior to things working was with 9.0.1. I think my previous attempt may have been with 9.0.

Anyway, a day later and everything is still working just fine, so I'm going to try and forget like this ever happened.
