Old vista laptop -- can't restore backup!

In a bit of a predicament. I'm trying to transfer all my data from my old iPhone 5 to my new iPhone 6s. The thing is, I have an old Microsoft Vista laptop. So when I come to restore backup, it says I need the latest version of iTunes. So when I go to update iTunes, it then says the last version of itunes needs at least Windows 7 and cannot install on Vista! How else can I restore my backup? The old phones has managed to wipe itself out in the process so everything is on the old itunes. icould backup hasn't created a backup either!! fuming!

See this information from ASC User Turingtest2. Use the version of iTunes download that works for your device. You may have to remove your current version. See this for that information. Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 - Apple Support

There is a new release of iTunes for Windows XP 32-bit and Windows Vista 32/64 which includes support for iOS 9.
