Q: My iPhone stops playing music when taking photos?!

HI there...

My iPhone 6S seems to stop playing music both from iTunes or Spotify when I open the camera to take a photograph. I assumed there would be some obvious way to allow it to continue playing. It's a bit annoying to be honest! I just want to continue listening to my music whilst taking photogrsphs...

I can't find anything on the web... Or on here... Can't find anything on the phone... It didn't happen with my iPhone 5...

If anybody knows anything or has any idea if this is actually a design feature or just annoying I'd appreciate any advice!

Cheers!

Kev

Argh! Still not fixed in 9.3. I and many others have reported this bug. Why won't Apple listen and fix it? It should only be a couple lines of code to fix this!

ARRRGGHHHH!  I just posted a question on Ars asking if they finally fixed this.  I just don't get it.  Maybe they're too busy to read the forums?   Maybe some energy and resources from the watch might be directed back to the iPhone?

    Thanks for the heads up.

I am so irritated. Called Apple AGAIN about this. Got yet another "Senior Advisor" -- this one simply COULD NOT UNDERSTAND what I was saying (although I have described it exquisitely clearly in writing multiple times in previous reports, and she kept me on hold for like 20 min reading the previous notes).  First she gave me the same old line I have heard before, about "an update coming TODAY will fix it!" and when it did NOT fix it and I called her back, she first said that I'll "have to wait for Apple to fix it" and then ended by saying that it must be a HARDWARE issue with my device and that I should get a replacement.

    Yeah, right.

    So disgusted.

I hate to see my post above saying it was fixed, bcs that "fix" lasted like HALF AN HOUR.

So don't anyone think it actually got fixed for me!

This has been what, seven months? eight?

THe situation is gonna get worse if someone confirms that the 5SE does not have this problem. If it doesnt. Then apple just screwed up the Flagship phone.

ITs not a matter of resources now. Its a matter of bad management. of iphones c-level team.

And im not upgrading ios. For sure until this issue is said and done and 60 ft under.

Furthermore, I can half confirm that the 5SE the " super cheapo " apple phone, does not have this issue

but cannot fully confirm until I actually test it just heard from someone who went to the event. Its sad that apple doesnt read these forums...

That video is irrelevant. This seems to be clickbait spam. Report it, folks! I did.

My apple senior advisor DID read this topic. while I was on the phone with him. Back in SEPTEMBER.

He told me then that the engineers had been made aware...and a fix would be in the works.

    So disappointing.

Hmm 9.3 and still no fix... -_-

This annoys me every frickin day!

Was thinking of getting an iPhone SE instead, but i fear they might have "improved" that too...

I just went live and had to go out with a Tweet on this issue. all the way to the top , baby!

I think Apple has been very irresponsible both on the coding of Live Photos and the explanation of Live Photos .

They brought out a new feature without a) a proper explanation and, most importantly, b) the proper coding and "sliders" to turn it off and be able to have the camera functionality that the regular iphone 6 does. (i.e.  be listening to music and be able to take photos without music shutting off!)

Shame on you, Apple. Its been way to long since the release date...

Wake up apple...do I really have to downgrade to a iPhone 6 again to be able to take pictures and listen to music at the same time?

    Hello everyone,

Its clear that this is a general issue with the iPhone 6s. and the reply from Apple its just ridiculous. The first reply here saying that they were "working on the issue" is from OCTOBER 2015 and until now we got NOTHING. If I had read about this before I would not have changed my phone for the last version in December.

I've just been on line with 2 representatives as well and they really need our feedback on http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html (Choose “enhancement request” for feedback type) so their teams can see how much this affect us. Please spread the word. This needs to be fixed ASAP.

Where is the freedom and multitasking of apple products?

    thank you!
