Q: Someone please help me!!! iOS 9.01 limbo!!!

I have an iPhone 5. I mistakenly updated to iOS 9 what it popped up on my phone. My phone then started randomly rebooting. When iOS 9.01 popped up yesterday, I thought, "Could it be any worse?" Yes...yes it can. This morning it randomly shut off and would switch between a black screen and black screen with white apple logo. I tried putting it in recovery mode with iTunes open with no luck. First i'm asked if i want to update or restore. So I tried updating so I wouldn't lose any data, settings etc. I got an error message 9 saying I can't update, do I want to try restoring to factory settings. Sure, why not? It's better than nothing right? Well, that didn't work either. My iPhone is now a brick! Now anytime I try restarting I'm stuck in recovery mode. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm at my wits end.
