Q: after yosemite update windows partition not bootable.

Hello, after upgrading to Yosemite my windows partition is not bootable, But I notice that the Bootcamp and windows folder and all the files seems to be intact. I run diskutil list, and got the following output:

/dev/disk0

   #:                       TYPE NAME                    SIZE       IDENTIFIER

   0:      GUID_partition_scheme                        *500.1 GB   disk0

   1:                        EFI EFI                     209.7 MB   disk0s1

   2:                  Apple_HFS Macintosh HD            399.0 GB   disk0s2

   3:                 Apple_Boot Recovery HD             650.0 MB   disk0s3

   4:       Microsoft Basic Data BOOTCAMP

I then run sudo dd if=/dev/rdisk0s4 count=1 2>/dev/null | hexdump -C .
And got the following:

    1. The GPT and MBR are in sync, with a valid NTFS header. Fro the OS X side, this should work.

    2. What error(s) do you get if you select Bootcamp in System Preferences -> Startup Disk?

    3. Was your Windows partition resized at any point?

    4. Do you have any third-party NTFS software?

    Sorry for the late reply,

    2.  Idid not get any errors when using  Bootcamp in System Preferences -> Startup Disk.

    - Now that I chose Windows as the startup OS, I cannot go back to Mac

    - the Control Option shortcuts when booting is not working.

    3. I don't think I resize the windows partition.

    4. I don't have any third-party software

What is the current version of Windows? If it is Windows 10 and was upgraded from W7/W8, your BC drivers need to be reinstalled with Administrative privileges and compatibility set to W7/W8 as appropriate.

It is Windows 8. I did not upgrade anything on the  Windows side, the only thing that was upgraded was the Mac OS, which I upgraded to Yosemite.
