iphone 6s can't restore from factory settings - Error code 1

Hi,

Like many here, I was stuck on the "Slide to Upgrade issue" with my new iPhone 6s.

So I followed this:

But to no success. I even went as far as trying to restore to factory settings, following this:

And tried not only to recover, but also upgrade to 9.0.1, when presented the option.

But about 60% way through the restore (given the progress bar) now I'm stuck with:

"The phone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred. (1)"

Which I found out was a hardware issue from here:

I've upgraded my iTunes to 12.2.2.25 (the latest currently), and even used different USB ports on my Mac (OSX 10.7.5)

and even tried to restore/upgrade without my SIM card.

Has anyone been able to restore from factory settings on their iPhone 6s successfully after the "slide to upgrade" problem?

Just an update on this:

Went to the Apple store as Error Code 1 is a hardware issue.

They then replaced my phone with a new one.

We proceeded with the new phone setup, and restored from backup. We faced the same issue. Slide to Update issue again.

We then put the phone into DFU (recovery) mode.

Then restored/upgrade the iPhone to 9.0.1 and everything worked fine.

The point here is that if you are setting up a new iPhone 6s with iOS 9.0.0 do not restore from backup right away. Setup as a new phone and upgrade to 9.0.1 first, then restore from backup.
