Hi how can I add: Dep 17:00 Arrival 19:15 Flight Time 2.2

MINUTES TO TENTHS CONVERSION00 - 05 = .006 - 11 = .112 - 17 = .218 - 23 = .324 - 29 = .4
MINUTES TO TENTHS CONVERSION30 - 35 = .536 - 41 = .642 - 47 = .748 - 53 = .854 - 59 = .9

Hi gomlic,

Numbers has a Date & Time cell format. Any time carries a date (even if not displayed) and every date caries a time (even if not displayed).

Date & Time is an instant since midnight at the beginning of 1st January in the year 1904. Here is an illustration displaying full Date & Time in the Depart and Arrive columns.

Subtracting Arrival -Departure gives a Duration

Please restate your problem. I am not sure why you want tenths.

Regards,

Ian.

The first column is integers from 0 to 60 (column A)

the second column ( column B) contains the formula:

=INT(A2÷6)÷10

select cell B2, then type (or copy and paste from here) the formula:

=INT(A2÷6)÷10

shorthand is:

B2=INT(A2÷6)÷10

So, putting Ian's and Wayne's ideas together I come up with this formula, which I think does what you want:

User uploaded file

=INT(DUR2HOURS(B2−A2))+INT(MOD(DUR2MINUTES(B2−A2),60)÷6)÷10

The first INT extracts the hours from Ian's formula.

The second INT extracts the minutes and converts them using Wayne's formula.

May be a way to shorten/simplify the formula but it seems to be doing what you want.
