A grey bar has appeared in the text message box, so I cannot see the text I'm typing. The bar has '0:00' on the right hand side (in white). Text still works, but I can't see it until it has sent.This started happening after installing iOS 9.0.1 on my iPhone 5s.

I fixed the problem by rebooting. Press sleep/wake button on top (right) of iPhone 5s.

I turned my phone off and then back on and the grey box was gone.

Go to Settings, then Messages. Enable iMessage if it isn't (even temporarily), then turn off Raise to Listen (second from the bottom.) If you don't like iMessage enabled, turn it off again. Should be a longer fix than powering down the phone over and over.
