Q: I cannot open iPhoto on my MAC since updating OSX Yosemite 10.10.5

I cannot open iPhoto on my iMAC iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2011) since updating OSX Yosemite 10.10.5

I opened the new PHOTOS App, but cannot import any of my photos in iPhoto Library into this APP.

Any suggestions please ?

iMac, iOS 9.0.1

For Yosemite, MacOS X 10.10.3 or later you need to update iPhoto to version 9.6.1.

Barney-15E's user tip explains how to update to iPhoto 9.6.1 by reinstalling your App Store purchase.

See this link:   Get iPhoto 9.6.1 if you didn't update before OS X 10.10.3

Basically, move the incompatible iPhoto version from the Applications folder  to the Trash (the application, not your iPhoto Library). Then sign into the AppStore and open the purchases tab. It should now show "Install" to the right of iPhoto.

if you want to use Photos, you have to migrate your iPhoto Library to Photos. You do not import your iPhoto Library to Photos, you open it in Photos by dragging the iPhoto Library onto the Photos icon in the Dock. Photos will create a new library. This may take a while.
