Q: 3d touch not working

Obviously!!! It comes out of the box with ios9!!! Then it asks you to update to 9.0.1 which I did and now the 3D Touch doesn't work for some apps that it originally worked for!! No point in talking to you. You're obliviouS!! Do you even have the new iPhone?? If not I don't think you should give advice until you have it in your hands!!

Same for me.  Worked fine with 9.0. Now only works somewhat on 9.0.1. For example 3D Touch on Messenger now only says "new message" where before it had several option. Pressing on Mail does nothing (gives the 3 vibrations meaning no 3D Touch function), where it used to. Same for Reminders. However some like Camera still give all the proper options when you press it (4 or 5 choices come up).

I have hard reset the phone, completely reset and restored from iCloud, and been on the phone for hours with Apple. They are saying it is an issue with my 9.0.1 firmware (hence the erase and restore not fixing anything). But, no one has a solution. Very frustrating and wasting a lot of my time.

I too have done everything you mentioned. Do you think the problem can be resolved by reverting back to 9.0 , and if so how can I do this ?

My attempt earlier only managed to restore from 9.0.1 using iTunes. I too have wasted alot of time on this !

Possibly. I also suggested to the apple tech that I go to 9.1 beta. He wasn't too helpful with that since the beta "isn't supported". Basically, we need to get the firmware off the phone and reloaded. How this is done I don't know. I may try to walk into an Apple Store and make them mess with it. I'm just worried I'll waste countless more hours there just for them to erase and restore from icloud and not solve the issue yet again.

Out of curiosity, are you guys having the exact same apps fail/partial fail with 3D Touch? I.e. Does your camera app and safari app work just fine, the mail app ddoes nothing, the phone app not gives the "create new contact", messenger only gives "create new message", etc? Just curious if, when it fails, does it fail the same way for us all, or is it sort of random for what works for some people and not for others.

I think I am worse off, 3D touch does not  work with mail, camera, safari ..etc, all I get is the rest of screen greying out with no options.  So I think it affects each of us differently perhaps.....

When I go to settings > general > accessibility > 3D Touch and click on the diagram, nothing happens.

I really should not have been so quick to upgrade to iOS 9.0.1 , should have left the phone as it was when I collected it.

Apple support final advise was to walk into an apple care centre and let them solve the issue.

I Am having the exact same issue as you. If anyone walks into an Apple Store and is able to resolve the issue please let us know!!

3D Touch will not work with new Twitter app v6.37.2.  Have signed in and out, have deleted my account and deleted and reinstalled the app.  Have rebooted my phone between each of these steps (I have a 6s).  3D Touch works properly in all other use cases.  Any ideas most appreciated.

Managed to solve it thanks to Troy, apparently we were not pressing it hard enough ? Best to place your phone on a table and depress it, the options should

show up. Might be best to select light under settings > accessibility > 3D touch. Hope that helps !

I Have it still only shows new message and email doesn't come up with anything all other 3D functions work properly

I am able to get All Inboxes, VIP, Search & New Message option for Email & for Messages I can see New message & 3 numbers that I can send msg to.

Press the icon down firmly (regardless which setting it is set to).

In related news for people on the planet earth, I wasted 1 hour in the Apple Store in king of prussia today and they were UNABLE TO FIX this issue. It is  known bug. They do not know how to fix it. Basically I was left with "sorry. Wait for an update"
