Sound coming from headphones is very low. Reset NVRAM and it helped for about 15 minutes then back to low sound. Headphones are fine.

The sound coming from my headphones plugged into Macbook Pro Retina 13 inch mid 2012 is very low. NVRAM was reset and the sound was corrected for about 15 minutes then went low again. Headphones are fine and have been tested with other devices. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Already have reset NVRAM twice. I just connected the Macbook Pro to a monitor via hdmi cable and plugged my headphones directly into the headphone jack on it. I have great sound that way. So at least the headphones are good. If I'm getting sound albeit low through the headphone jack when plugging headphones in there it would seem that the issue is software not hardware. Maybe 🙂
