Q: New MacBook Pro Battery Life?
Hi all,
I recently bought a new MacBook Pro with Retina Display about 1 week ago. It is a 13.3 inch that has 16 GB of RAM, 512GB SSD, 2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i5. I just started using it lightly running a few applications like iTunes, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Word and noticed that the battery indicator in the top displays that I have around 5 or sometimes 6 hours left before I run out of battery. I don't do any heavy video/audio processing or play graphics/processor intensive games and I fully quit all the applications that I use before letting it sleep for a half-hour or so if I need to leave the computer. I generally have relatively low brightness ( 5 bars or less ) and am connected to ethernet via Thunderbolt adapter. It appears that the battery time is relatively low compared to the time that was listed on the website ( up to 10 hours ). I notice that the battery drains rather more quickly than I had expected when talking to friends with Macbooks. Is there something wrong with the battery or the way the battery time is presented? Or do I just have to continue using the notebook Just wondering if anyone is dealing or has dealt with this problem before I contact Apple.
Thanks in advance.
