I want to batch-convert a set of Photo,files. The new version of Yosemite (10.10.6) will not recognize the Photo files. I have about 46 GB of photos. Is there any way to batch-convert them? I'm not interested in storing the photos on iCloud.
Your post does not give adequate information to answer - what exactly is it you want to do and what exactly is the conversion you want - from what to what - where are the hots now and what is their source?
What exactly does " Yosemite will not recognize the photo files" mean? Yosemite is the OS and does not "recognize" photos - photo software like iPhoto, Photos, Preview or others are used to "reconize" photos

Thanks for your response. I've been away from my computer for a while and am just reading what you said. As far further explanation of my problem; I was migrating files from an older and smaller hard drive to a new hard drive. Only a few of the photos migrated. I went into the old drive and found a folder labelled iPhoto Library. I copied this folder to the desktop with the new hard drive that had Yosemite 10.10.6. I tried to open the folder with iPhoto and nothing happened. I tried to use Preview to see what photos were in the iPhoto Library folder and nothing would open. I even tried to open the folder with Photoshop Elements, and it wouldn't open. I though I had perhaps moved an empty folder, but the folder reads 49.8 Gb in the finder. Can a folder register that many contents but still be empty? I haven't even been able to determine what kind of files are in there.
Any ideas as to what may have happened?
what exactly does happen when you try to open it with iPhoto and what version of iPhoto do you have? And what exactly happens if you drag that iPhoto library to the Photos icon in the DOck?
