Q: iOS 9 Keyboard/messages locking/lagging...only hard reboot as option

Has anyone experienced this? It seems to be related to the keyboard or the messages app, I can't tell which. Basically it starts with lag. But then it completely locks up the keyboard. So if I click in anything that requires a textbox (Facebook status update, text message app, Google Chrome address bar, etc), the keyboard is unresponsive. In other words, you can't click anything at all.

 

Eventually if you do this in the message app, it crashes the app. Opening it back up doesn't fix it.

 

Only a hard reboot fixes it, and even then, sometimes it takes me 2-3 times before it's fixed. I don't know what it is, but it's royally ticking me off. Aside from a complete wipe of the phone and start from scratch, I have tried just about everything, like restoring, deleting all text threads, uninstalling anything but the english keyboard, force closing the message app, etc.

 

Anyone have any idea why this is happening? It's almost impossible to troubleshoot, because I can't get it to replicate. So I can't do X and then know immediately if it's solved the problem or not.

    I've  tried every solution possible. Restore as a new phone....restore from backup....restore in ano computer....another wifi network... Uninstall swiftkey. I've even tried to install the iOS 9.1 when it was on beta. All I can say is that nothing worked. So, after all of that, I restored my phone from my latest backup and moved on with my life waiting for the official 9.1 to be released. But, out of nowhere, it started to work fine...

    I am also having the same problem, i.e. messages keyboard unresponsive and eventually freezing . Restore did not help. Hard reset mitigates the issue for a while. This is on a 6S+ and on an iPad Air, so clearly a software issue.

    I'm using iphone 5, encountered such problems for a few weeks now.
    This method of installing swiftkey really works, no more freeze or lagging when the text window come up.
    have been trying it for a day now, still smooth.
